Trailer types for jobsites

Dump trailer
A dump trailer has a bed that tips to unload, which makes it the usual choice for loose material.
Enclosed trailer
An enclosed trailer is a box on wheels with doors, used when what you carry needs cover.
Equipment trailer
An equipment trailer is built to carry machinery, and is usually loaded by driving up ramps at the rear.
Flatbed trailer
A flatbed trailer is an open deck with no sides, so it can be loaded from any direction.
Utility trailer
A utility trailer is a smaller open trailer, usually with low sides, for general hauling.
Car hauler
A car hauler is an open trailer set up to load vehicles, usually by ramps or a tilting deck.
Gooseneck trailer
Gooseneck describes how a trailer hitches, not what it carries.
