How much does it cost to rent a trailer for a month?
Search this question and you'll find pages that say "rates vary." They do, but not randomly. We run a trailer rental marketplace, so instead of a vague range, here is what renters actually paid, by rental length, across 8,555 real bookings from November 2025 through August 2026.

Medians from 8,555 bookings, Nov 2025 – Aug 2026. This is what rates have done, not a quote. Your price depends on trailer type, location, and the supplier's own rates.
The daily rate falls 60% between a weekend rental and a monthly one. At the median, a month runs around $1,200, not the $3,000 that 30 × the weekend rate would suggest.
Why longer rentals cost less per day
Suppliers give this discount without being asked, because a long rental is genuinely better business for them: one handover instead of eight, one cleaning, one calendar block, months of guaranteed utilization instead of gaps between weekend renters. The discount you see in the curve is suppliers pricing that preference in.
Which raises the obvious question: if a month is discounted this deeply, what does a three- or six-month rental cost? Here's the honest answer: most rental platforms never find out, because nothing about their checkout is built to ask. Renters who need a trailer for months end up re-booking or extending week after week at short-term rates. (In our own data, one renter extended a single booking eighteen separate times.)
Getting a real price for a long rental
That's the gap Trailer Bid exists to close. Post the requirement once (trailer type, jobsite ZIP, start date, how long you need it) and suppliers near your site each quote one monthly rate: the trailer, its return and platform fees in one figure, with delivery shown once beside it. You compare complete rates side by side instead of extrapolating from a daily rate and hoping.
A rental of 30 days or less is one booking. A longer rental runs as consecutive bookings of up to 30 days each, at the monthly rate you accepted; a shorter final period’s rent is charged only for the days it covers. The price doesn’t drift mid-term, and you can end it after any period.
