What does it cost to have a rental trailer delivered?
Almost every rental quote leaves this number out. You compare daily rates, pick a trailer, and find out at checkout (or on the invoice) what getting it to your site actually costs. For a jobsite an hour from the nearest supplier, delivery can be the difference between two otherwise identical quotes.
Here is how trailer delivery pricing actually works, with real numbers.
Delivery is priced per mile, round trip
A rental trailer doesn't just come to your site. It goes back. Suppliers price delivery per loaded mile in both directions: the trailer is delivered at the start of your rental and collected at the end, and the rate covers the round trip.
So the arithmetic is:
miles to your site × the supplier's per-mile rate × 2
A jobsite 30 miles from the supplier, at $2.50 per mile, is 30 × $2.50 × 2 = $150 in delivery for the entire rental, a number worth knowing before you choose, not after.
What suppliers actually charge
Across live Neighbors Trailer listings that offer delivery (about 6 in 10 do), the asking rates look like this:
Suppliers also set a delivery radius: how far they're willing to haul. The typical radius is around 50 miles, though some go much farther. On a long-term rental, distance matters less than you'd think: a 50-mile delivery is a few hundred dollars inside a multi-thousand-dollar term, amortized over months rather than a weekend.
Why this number hides everywhere else
Delivery is usually quoted verbally, added at checkout, or discovered on the invoice. It isn't that anyone is hiding it. It's that the industry quotes the trailer and treats getting it to you as a separate conversation. If your site is remote, that separate conversation is where the real price lives.
On Trailer Bid, delivery is inside the number
When you post a request on Trailer Bid, suppliers near your site quote a price with delivery to your site, collection at the end and platform fees already worked out: one total on a rental of 30 days or less, or a monthly rate with delivery shown once beside it on a longer one. Distance from each supplier's trailer to your jobsite is shown beside each quote, so you can see exactly why one price differs from another.
No delivery conversation after you've chosen. The delivered price is the price you compared.
